These are the terms every booking is made on, written for parents rather than lawyers. They cover how bookings, payment and cancellations work, what our carers will and will not do, and how we keep children safe. Your written quote and these terms together are the agreement.

Booking and confirmation

A booking is confirmed when we have sent you a written quote on WhatsApp or email, you have accepted it, and the deposit has been received. Until then, dates and carers are not held.

The quote lists the dates, hours, number of children, rates, supplements and anything at cost, so there are no surprises on the day.

  • Minimum bookings: 5 hours for babysitting (day or evening), 5 nights for a live-in nanny.
  • Changes to dates or hours are free where the carer is available; extra hours on the day are charged at the hourly rate in 30-minute blocks.
  • We confirm who your carer will be, with a short introduction, before the first session. For live-in bookings we arrange a video call first.

Payment

  • A 30% deposit (minimum IDR 500,000) confirms the booking. The balance is due before the first session by bank transfer or card, or in rupiah cash at the first session.
  • Stays longer than a week are invoiced weekly in advance.
  • Prices are in Indonesian rupiah, with a guide in other currencies on the price list. A transport fee of IDR 100,000 per visit covers the carer's petrol in southern Bali. There are no agency, booking or card fees.
  • Anything at cost (car and driver, entry fees, meals on outings, a nanny's travel off the island) is agreed with you beforehand and settled at the end of the booking.

Cancellations and changes

  • More than 48 hours before the start: full refund of the deposit.
  • 24 to 48 hours before: half of the first day (or the minimum booking) is charged.
  • Less than 24 hours, or a no-show: the first day or the minimum booking is charged.
  • Live-in nannies: 7 days' notice; otherwise two nights are charged.
  • If you cut a multi-day booking short, the remaining days are refunded less one day's rate.
  • If your carer is unwell we send a replacement. If we cannot, that session is refunded in full. If a volcano, storm or official travel disruption stops your trip, we refund in full.

Hours, breaks and supplements

  • Daytime rates run from 7am to 10pm. From 10pm the evening rate applies, and from midnight the after-midnight rate.
  • On bookings of 8 hours or more the carer takes a 30-minute break while the children nap or you are present, and a simple meal is provided by you (or add IDR 50,000).
  • Public holidays (Nyepi, Galungan, Kuningan, Good Friday, Christmas Day, New Year's Day) add 50%; 20 December to 5 January adds 20%.
  • Nyepi (the Balinese Day of Silence, in March) closes the island for 24 hours. Carers already living in with you continue; day bookings on Nyepi are not possible.

How many children per carer

Safe supervision comes first, especially near water, so we keep ratios low.

  • One carer looks after up to three children, or two children under three.
  • Four or more children, or three under three, need a second carer at the hourly rate.
  • Weddings and events: one carer per four children, one per two under three, with a lead carer when there are three or more carers.
  • Infants under 12 months are cared for by our infant specialists.

What carers do, and what they do not

Our carers are there for your children: playing, feeding, bathing, settling, supervising and keeping them safe.

  • They will follow your routines for meals, naps, screens and bedtime exactly as you describe them at handover.
  • They will prepare simple children's meals and bottles with bottled or filtered water, and tidy the children's things. General housekeeping is not included.
  • They will supervise swimming within arm's reach for young children and follow your pool and beach rules. Children are never left alone near water.
  • They will give medicine only with your written instructions (a WhatsApp message is fine) stating the dose and time.
  • They will not drive your children, and will never carry them on a scooter. Travel is by a car with a driver we arrange, with child seats on request, or with you.
  • They will not administer corporal punishment or raise their voice in anger, ever.
  • They will not post photos of your children anywhere. Photos taken during a booking are sent to you and deleted on request.

Health, safety and emergencies

  • Every carer completes BIMC Hospital's basic life support (CPR) course before her first booking and knows the nearest clinic and international hospital to your villa or hotel.
  • Please tell us about allergies, medical conditions, medicines and additional needs when you book, and leave your travel insurance details and an emergency contact at handover.
  • In an emergency the carer calls you first, then medical help. If your child needs a doctor and you cannot be reached within 10 minutes, the carer will take them to the nearest clinic and keep trying you.
  • If a child is unwell with fever, vomiting or diarrhoea, the carer will care for them at home rather than go out, and will not care for other families on the same day.
  • If you are unwell, we will still come. If the carer is unwell, we send a replacement.

Your home and your things

  • Carers treat your villa or hotel room as your private space: no visitors, no photos of the property, no use of your belongings beyond what is needed to care for the children.
  • Please leave the villa's emergency numbers, the Wi-Fi password and somewhere for an overnight or live-in carer to sleep.
  • Accidental breakages are rare and are reported to you straight away.

Our carers

  • Every carer is interviewed in person by Kadek, has her identity card and references checked, and has real experience with the ages she cares for. Our safety standards page has the detail.
  • Carers are paid fairly and promptly, with transport home after late nights, rest on long bookings and a day off each week on live-in bookings.
  • Please book carers through us rather than directly. It keeps the vetting, the replacement guarantee and the point of contact in place, and keeps the carers properly paid.

Privacy

What we collect about your family and your children, how we use it and how long we keep it is in our privacy policy. Carers receive only the information they need for your booking.

Questions or problems

If anything is not right, message Kadek on WhatsApp during the booking, not after. We would far rather fix it on the day than hear about it in a review.
