Childcare in Uluwatu & the Bukit
Uluwatu, Pecatu, Bingin, Padang Padang, Balangan, Ungasan and Nusa Dua's quieter neighbour Melasti are spread along the limestone cliffs of the Bukit. Villas here tend to be private, with big pools and ocean views, and the beaches below them are reached by long flights of steps that are no fun with a pram or a sleeping toddler. Our sitters make the cliff-top life work: pool days at the villa, beach trips at child-friendly times, and evenings covered.
Padang Padang is a small sheltered cove that is lovely at low tide, Melasti has a wide beach with calm patches, and Balangan has sand and cafes at the top of the cliff. The famous Uluwatu surf breaks are for experienced surfers, and our sitters are clear about which beaches are for watching and which are for paddling.
For the Kecak fire dance at Uluwatu Temple at sunset, which is magical for older children but late and crowded for little ones, an evening sitter at the villa is the usual answer. We also cover the cliff-top resorts and beach clubs for in-room and pool sitting.

Are there beaches in Uluwatu suitable for young children?
A few, with care. Padang Padang at low tide, Melasti and the calmer corners of Balangan are the best for paddling, and all are reached by steps. The famous Uluwatu surf breaks and Suluban are for experienced surfers only. Most families with toddlers do their swimming in the villa pool and visit the beaches for the views and the sand.
