Safety, trust and professionalism are the whole point of booking through an agency rather than a stranger from a Facebook group. This page sets out exactly how we choose and train carers, the rules they work to, and what we are still building, so you can judge for yourself.

How carers are chosen

  • Kadek interviews every carer in person, in English and in Bahasa Indonesia, and only takes on people she already knows or who come recommended by families she has worked with.
  • Identity: each carer's Indonesian identity card (KTP) is checked and a copy kept on file.
  • References: at least two from families the carer has looked after, which we contact.
  • Experience: real childcare experience with the ages she will care for. Babies under 12 months are only cared for by our infant specialists.
  • English: good enough to understand your routine, chat with the children and call you if anything happens.
  • Police certificate (SKCK): being obtained for every carer; each profile shows whether it is on file.

Training

Kadek completed BIMC Hospital's Basic Life Support training (infant, child and adult CPR and choking response) in July 2025, and every carer who joins Bali Bloom Day Care completes the same course before she works with families. Each carer's profile lists the training she holds, with the issuer and year, and we send the certificate with your booking confirmation on request.

Being added through 2026

  • Infant and child first aid refreshers, including fever, burns, falls and allergic reactions.
  • Swimming competence and pool safety for every carer who supervises children in water.
  • Allergy awareness, reading labels and using an adrenaline auto-injector.
  • Caring for children with additional needs such as autism and ADHD.

We only advertise what a carer actually holds. If a qualification is not on her profile, she does not have it yet.

Around water

  • Children are never left alone near a pool, pond or the sea, not for a moment, including while the carer answers her phone.
  • Young children and non-swimmers stay within arm's reach in the water; the carer is in the pool with them, not beside it.
  • We follow your rules on where and when the children swim and use the swim vests you provide.
  • Beaches: Sanur, Nusa Dua and Geger for swimming; Kuta, Legian, Seminyak and Canggu for sand only with young children. Carers know which is which.

How many children per carer

  • One carer for up to three children, or two children under three.
  • Four or more children, or three under three, always means a second carer.
  • Weddings and events: one carer per four children (one per two under three), with a lead carer when there are three or more carers.

Getting around

  • Carers never carry children on a scooter and never drive them. Outings use a car with a driver we arrange, with child seats on request, or you drive.
  • Carers travel to and from you on their own scooter, which is what the transport fee covers.

Medicine, food and health

  • Medicine is given only with your written instructions (a WhatsApp message is fine) stating what, how much and when.
  • Allergies and intolerances are recorded at booking and repeated at handover. Carers read labels and keep allergens away.
  • Bottles and formula are made up with bottled or filtered water. Children's meals are simple and cooked fresh.
  • A child who is unwell stays home with the carer rather than going out, and that carer does not work with another family the same day.

If something goes wrong

  • The carer calls you first, then medical help. If a child needs a doctor and you cannot be reached within 10 minutes, the carer takes them to the nearest clinic and keeps trying you.
  • Every carer knows the nearest clinic and international hospital to your villa or hotel; southern Bali has 24-hour international hospitals in Kuta and Nusa Dua.
  • We ask for your travel insurance details and an emergency contact with every booking.
  • Kadek is reachable on WhatsApp throughout every booking.

Your family's privacy

  • Carers never post photos of your children. Photos taken during a booking are sent to you and deleted on request.
  • Carers receive only the information they need for your booking. What we collect and keep is in our privacy policy.
  • Photos of children on this website are of families who have given their permission.

What we ask of you

  • Tell us about allergies, medical conditions, fears and additional needs when you book.
  • Do a proper 15-minute handover: routines, food, the pool rules, where things are, your numbers.
  • Leave the villa address, the manager's number, your insurance details and somewhere for an overnight carer to sleep.
  • Keep your phone on while you are out.
