From Berawa through Batu Bolong and Echo Beach to Pererenan and Seseh, Canggu is a patchwork of villas, rice fields and cafes. Many of our regular families here are remote workers and expats who need a dependable part-time or full-time nanny around school and work, and we have placed a lot of them. Holiday families love Canggu for the surf schools, Finns Recreation Club with its Splash Waterpark, trampolines and bowling, and the relaxed beach bars at sunset.
The beaches are dark volcanic sand with strong surf, better for older kids learning to surf under instruction than for toddlers to paddle. For little ones, villa pools and Finns' kids' pool are the go-to, and the paved paths around Berawa are a rare place in Bali where you can actually push a pram.
Traffic in Canggu is slow, so a sitter who comes to your villa is far more relaxing than ferrying children around. For activity days we start early to beat the shortcut queues.

Yes. Canggu is where we place most of our long-term, part-time and live-in nannies for expat and local families. We introduce vetted nannies, arrange interviews and a paid trial day, and stay in touch after the start.
Can a babysitter look after my children while I take a surf lesson in Canggu?
Yes. Book a sitter for the morning and she will come to your villa, or join you at the beach and keep the children playing on the sand and in the shade while you surf. Minimum booking is three hours.
