The beach at Sanur faces east over a shallow lagoon protected by a reef, so the water is calm and warm, and sunrise here, with the fishing boats and Mount Agung on the horizon, is one of Bali's quiet pleasures. The paved beachfront path runs for several kilometres past cafes, hotels and playgrounds, which makes Sanur the easiest place on the island to get around with a pram or small bikes.
Our Sanur sitters do a lot of beach mornings: paddling in the shallows, sandcastles under the trees and a smoothie at a beach cafe, then back to the hotel or villa for a nap while you have the afternoon. Evening sitters cover the beachfront restaurants and the Sunday night market.
Sanur is also home to a settled community of expat and local families, retirees and long-stay visitors, and we place part-time and full-time nannies here as well as holiday sitters. Is Sanur Beach safe for toddlers?
Sanur is one of the safest beaches in Bali for young children. The reef keeps the water calm and shallow, the beach shelves gently, and there is shade from the trees along the promenade. Depth changes with the tide, so children still need close supervision, which is exactly what our sitters are there for.
Can a babysitter mind the children while we do a day trip to Nusa Penida from Sanur?
Yes. Boats to Nusa Penida and Lembongan leave from Sanur early in the morning. A full-day sitter arrives before you leave and looks after the children at your hotel or villa, the beach and the pool until you are back.
